AnglicareSA CEO Peter Sandeman said the initiative, which is set to launch next month, is part of the government’s broader redesign of early invention and prevention measures within the child protection space.
“We are pleased to work with the government to trial an intensive preventative pilot with the ultimate aim of stemming the increasing flow of children coming into the child protection system,” he said.
While the State Government’s investment in the affordable housing sector is important, Mr Sandeman acknowledged more must be done to address issues across housing, including supporting those experiencing homelessness.
“With very limited access to public housing and unaffordable private rental properties, funding and focus must be directed at addressing our homelessness crisis.”
