To be eligible to access NDIS services and funding, you must:
- be under 65 years old when you apply
- be either an Australian citizen or hold a permanent or protected special category visa
- have a disability caused by permanent impairment (physical, intellectual, cognitive, neurological, visual, hearing, or psychosocial) that significantly limits your ability to participate in daily activities
- require disability-specific supports (e.g. assistance or assistive technology) to participate in daily living activities
What are the eligibility requirements for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?
To be eligible to access NDIS services and funding, you must:
- be under 65 years old when you apply

There are three options to manage your funding, each providing varying levels of involvement. Self-managed funding is when you or an authorised representative manage your own funding and the supports you choose. Plan-managed funding is when a plan manager handles your payments and financial reporting. NDIS-managed funding is when the NDIS pays your providers directly.
You can select a mixture of management options, for example, self-managing the funding for one part of your plan funding and the NDIS managing another part.
