AnglicareSA Emergency Assistance provides practical relief, support, and advocacy for individuals and families in need. Our programs address urgent needs like food, medication, and financial guidance while offering referrals to specialist services for long-term solutions.

Our Emergency Assistance services are available across Adelaide City, Elizabeth, Christies Beach, Woodville, Wallaroo, and Whyalla.

How the program works

Emergency Assistance responds to anyone in crisis, offering immediate support and connecting individuals with additional services:

Emergency relief: Available Monday to Friday from 9am–12pm (services close when daily capacity is reached)
Financial counselling: Appointments available throughout the day—call 1800 759 707 to connect with a financial specialist
NILS: Apply for an interest-free loan for essential items, repaid over 9–12 months

How to Access

To receive Emergency Assistance or to book an appointment:

Visit one of our locations (Adelaide City, Elizabeth, Christies Beach, Woodville, Wallaroo, or Whyalla)

FAQs

What emergency assistance does AnglicareSA provide?

AnglicareSA provides emergency relief, including food, pharmacy vouchers (for prescribed medication), blankets, and other essentials to South Australian families.

We also have a No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) that provides a no interest loan for the purchase of essential household items, such as whitegoods and furniture. Participants must pay back the loan, but they are not charged interest.

AnglicareSA also has financial counsellors who can advise on managing creditors and debts while building your confidence in managing your money.
Is AnglicareSA’s Emergency Assistance service available 24/7?

Our Emergency Assistance is available Monday to Friday, from 9am to 12pm.

We have a range of Emergency Assistance sites around metro and regional South Australia. Please note that each service and its phone line will close when capacity has been reached for the day.
Do I need a referral to access AnglicareSA’s Emergency Assistance?

No – if you need it, we are here to help you. AnglicareSA’s Emergency Assistance responds to the practical needs of anyone in crisis or experiencing hardship. We can provide referrals to other specialist services if you need more specific support.
