Pudding the festive cheer into hampers
17 November 2025
A Christmas pudding is, for many, a quintessential part of the festive tradition, and for the past decade, iconic South Australian company Kyton’s Bakery has made a tradition of donating its award-winning puddings to AnglicareSA’s Christmas Hamper and Toy Drive.
This year’s delivery of 500 Christmas puddings and 100 cartons of vanilla cookies and shortbreads will, in the coming days and weeks, be packed by volunteers into an estimated 1,300 hampers to be given to individuals and families in need.
Alongside that, more than 2,000 children’s gifts will also be sent out to support those facing hardships this Christmas.
AnglicareSA Anglican Community Engagement Coordinator Jill Rivers said the partnership with Kytons had delivered plenty of smiles over the past 10 years through the Hamper and Toy Drive.
“When we are packing the hampers, it is important to us to have South Australian products in them,” Jill said. “But equally important is the fact that the hampers also contain quality products like those from Kytons.”
The pudding in question has, in fact, twice been named best in the nation, but for Kytons owner, Sharon Sutton, the partnership with AnglicareSA was not about awards, it was about the South Australian community.
“Kytons is South Australian and giving back is very important to us,” Sharon said. “We’re working with a number of organisations and charities over Christmas because South Australians have been supporting us for the last 87 years, so this is about us giving back.”
