Packing fun with learning
31 October 2024
They say many hands make light work, and that adage was proven true when dozens of students and teachers from St Peter’s College volunteered their time during the October school holidays to assemble 1,500 gift packs at AnglicareSA’s warehouse.
Student Charlie said he was enthusiastic about the opportunity to volunteer his time and give back to the community.
“I decided to volunteer because I like giving back to people,” Charlie said.
“I was keen to help out and do my bit.”
St Peter’s College teacher Stewart Smith said service was a core value at the school, and students were encouraged to contribute to the community through service learning hours.
“We have a service initiative at the school that requires our Year 10 boys to contribute some sort of service to the community,” Stewart said.
“We thought volunteering would be a wonderful way for them to give back to AnglicareSA, but also connect with the community and serve others.”
The gift packs will be given to employees as part of AnglicareSA’s annual Employee Appreciation Celebration.
We thank St Peter’s College for getting involved and helping to make our Employee Appreciation Celebration a success.
