Grant funds aged care support for customers

Almost 80 AnglicareSA home care customers facing financial or social disadvantage and/or at risk of homelessness have been supported to live more independently thanks to an Australian Government grant program.
The Support at Home Thin Markets Grant aims to close home care service gaps for older Australians, particularly in rural, remote, or specialised contexts where care can be harder to find and more expensive.
With the funding, AnglicareSA partnered with Max Healthcare to assemble bags of equipment that could be used to improve accessibility and help with simple, everyday tasks, including long-handled toe washers, foam-handled cutlery, grab reaches, and electric can openers.
AnglicareSA Senior Manager, Care Management, Penny Goode, said the funding enabled the organisation to provide items that made a big difference to independence and quality of life that a customer might not have previously had the means to purchase.
“The partnership with Max Healthcare is a great example of how working closely with suppliers helps AnglicareSA deliver more personalised, practical support to customers who need it most.”
