16 May 2025

So many ways, for our clients and you.

Whether you’re on the frontline or enabling behind the scenes, the knowledge and experience you’ll gain at AnglicareSA are hard to find just anywhere. In this candid Q&A, six of our team members from unique roles and journeys share how AnglicareSA has supported them to learn, grow and build remarkable careers.

Q: How does AnglicareSA offer you opportunities to grow your skills and expertise?

Brendan Livingston, Business Solution Lead:

“One of the great things about AnglicareSA is it’s such a large organisation – we have allied health professionals working in aged care, residential communities, disability, behaviour support, and more. There are countless colleagues and resources you can tap into and get different perspectives. Having such a broad range of services across the organisation means there are plenty of opportunities for collaboration.”

Tia Tan, Home and Community Services Care Worker:

“I recently had a session with my Lead – we have informal sessions every three months just to check in on how we’re going out in the field, in addition to an annual performance review. It’s a great opportunity to voice what you want from AnglicareSA moving forward – if you’re happy where you are or if you’d like to progress to another area within the company. The career progression opportunities are a massive thing for me.”

Q: What’s been the biggest thing you’ve learned since joining AnglicareSA?

Achira Kusal, Paediatric Occupational Therapist:

“I joined AnglicareSA shortly after completing my studies, so I spent my first week here shadowing other OTs and speech therapists in their sessions. I learned a lot from them; I still do. I’m always looking at what they’re doing, asking questions and discussing what works best for them. There are so many good brains working here, and everyone’s willing to share their expertise.”

Jenna Falzon, Senior Manager – Autism Services:

“Throughout my journey with AnglicareSA, I’ve grown confidence in myself, my skills and what I can achieve. It took courage for me to move from aged care to disability and children, but it was definitely worth taking the risk. I’ve been able to grow new skills, build new relationships and learn more about a sector that is really important to me.”

Clyde Rigney Jr, Senior Strategic Cultural Advisor – First Nations:

“As a leader in the organisation with unique lived experience, I’ve had to learn to be comfortable sharing a bit of myself. I really appreciate who I am and the unique story of who my people are, but I’ve had to learn to lean into that and get comfortable sharing it with others because of what I know it can do for the organisation. Drawing on my own experiences can inform the strategy, plans and relationships I can form within AnglicareSA and the broader community.”

Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future of your career with AnglicareSA?

Emmanuel Vuningoma, NDIS Team Leader:

“I have colleagues who have moved around in the organisation and tried different things, but I always want to have a direct role with clients, so I prefer to grow my career through studying. There are always new courses being added to AnglicareSA’s online learning portal, so there are always things you can learn. I’m looking forward to continuing to hone my skills through those online modules, training sessions with allied health professionals and the on-the-job support that AnglicareSA provides.”

Achira Kusal, Paediatric Occupational Therapist:

“I feel like there’s still so much for me to learn within the OT space. I want to keep growing my confidence and skills here, and I can do that through the training opportunities that we get. I recently jumped on the chance to do a bed rails assessment for an adult, and I learned a lot. I’ve also found it really helpful to lean on our team of experienced therapists for advice and information, so I look forward to continuing to expand my knowledge and expertise through shared learning.”
