All children and young people living in out-of-home care have rights — the right to feel safe, to be heard, and to tell someone if they’re unhappy.

In endorsing the Charter of Rights for Children and Young People, AnglicareSA is determined to support children and young people in our care to understand their rights so they can reach their full potential.

‘What’s the Go?’ video series

CREATE Foundation, the national consumer body representing the voices of children and young people in out-of-home care, have just released a three-part video series entitled “What’s the Go?” in partnership with the Department of Child Protection in South Australia.

The videos star young South Australians with out-of-home care experience and cover three big topics for young people in care — Participation, Feedback and Complaints, and Transitioning from Care.

It’s vital that we encourage children and young people in care to watch these videos, so they can feel empowered by completely understanding rights. Together, by sharing the videos, we can help improve their lives into the future.
