A safe space for Moms in their early parenting journey

Staying Attached is a program for women in late pregnancy (or with an infant under 3 years of age) who is currently experiencing a complex diagnosed mental health disorder.

The Service aim is to provide an outreach service that promotes secure attachment between mothers and infants, healthy family relations and stabilisation of the clients mental health, well-being and recovery.

Practitioners seek to build strong and supportive working relationships and can provide assistance across a wide range of areas. Goals are determined by parents through discussion to steer the direction and pace of the work.

The program is flexible and designed to ensure families are supported to manage their wellbeing.Staying Attached works in collaboration with Helen Mayo House, South Australian Public maternity hospitals and Allied Health Services including CaFHS.

Join our free support group for expecting and new moms

Free support group for both mums in their third trimester mums of babies under 6 months old. The Staying Attached Group provides a safe and supportive space where you can CONNECT, LEARN and SHARE with other mums with a lived experience of managing mental health during the perinatal period decreasing isolation and stigma.

  • Increase understanding of what babies need & how they learn
  • Improve family relationships
  • Create a safe and harmonious home environment
  • Link in with and advocate with appropriate services in the community
  • Provide emotional support at times of stress or trauma

Who can access the service?

Women in late pregnancy with diagnosed mental health issues. Or women with diagnosed mental health issues with an infant under 36 months of age.

Staying Attached Family Support Practitioners can visit families in the Greater Adelaide area.
