AnglicareSA CEO Peter Sandeman has donned the fluoro vest to sell The Big Issue magazine in celebration of International Vendor Week.

From 3-9 February, more than 70 CEOs and leaders across Australia are selling the magazine to help celebrate and raise awareness for the 9,000+ street paper vendors all over the world.

Mr Sandeman said the initiative is a great opportunity for leaders from diverse industries and backgrounds to come together in support of those who need it most.

“I was eager to hit the streets this week in supporting all South Australians working hard to overcome homelessness, disadvantage and marginalisation,” he said.

“At AnglicareSA, our housing and homelessness services are often stretched beyond capacity – we see and understand the challenges and inequalities facing people in our very own backyard.

“As a proud partner of The Big Issue and its Homes for Homes initiative, we know the fantastic work they do in empowering people to regain their sense of belonging and have meaningful participation in the community.”

Mr Sandeman teamed up with Steve, a Big Issue vendor of six years to sell the magazine. Steve brought an amazing sense of humour and energy to what was a chilly and windy summer’s morning.

The Big Issue do some amazing work helping people to avoid homelessness and disadvantage.

So, next time you see Steve and his colleagues, make sure you say hello and purchase the latest issue.
