The golden spires of St Peter’s Cathedral are a beacon to many people looking across the city of Adelaide.

On Friday, May 2 2014 the Cathedral itself and the people inside were beacons of hope to individuals and families who have been touched by attempted suicide. It was The Archbishop’s Cathedral Banquet, hosted by The Most Reverend Dr Jeffrey Driver, Archbishop of Adelaide. The event raised $110,000 towards AnglicareSA’s pilot program A Cry For Help.

This program will support individuals and families who present to Flinders Medical Centre’s emergency department after a first suicide attempt. AnglicareSA is fortunate to have the support of people like Richard and Simon Byrant who shared their family’s personal experience with suicide in a video screened on the night and available on our website, as well as sharing their story in the Sunday Mail. AnglicareSA sincerely thanks everyone who has supported A Cry For Help.
