The impact of AnglicareSA programs and initiatives has been recognised on the national stage, winning two of the five categories at the annual Anglicare Australia Awards.

Presented at the Anglicare Australia Conference last night, the Reconciliation category was awarded to our Foster Care Services team which facilitated a culturally immersive camp for First Nations children in care and their families in the northern Flinders Ranges.

Working alongside the team at Iga Warta, the camp on the land of the Adnyamathanha People – People of the Rocks – is part of a strong commitment to First Nations children to ensure that no child leaves AnglicareSA care without culture.

Meanwhile, our innovative Post Care Pathways program took out the Category for Excellence. Post Care Pathways provides a housing-first option that focuses on supporting young care leavers between the age of 18 and 25 years who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability, or are at risk of homelessness, during and/or following their transition from the formal care system.

AnglicareSA CEO Grant Reubenicht said it was a great result to win both awards which recognised the great work of our employees as well as the lasting impact of our programs and initiatives.

“I am proud of all our programs that were nominated for the awards because they all do amazing work and to me are also winners,” he said.

Accolades also went to regional provider ac.care, which AnglicareSA is proud to partner with, which won an award in the Partnership Category.
