Celebrating a new roadmap to reconciliation
9 December 2025
AnglicareSA has reaffirmed its commitment to reconciliation and previous achievements with a celebration and the sharing of the newly-endorsed Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre in Warriparinga/Bedford Park.
This fourth RAP will guide AnglicareSA’s reconciliation efforts for the next two years and help meet a vision of being an organisation that provides equitable access to services, is culturally responsive and inclusive, and drives positive change for First Nations communities.
AnglicareSA CEO and RAP Working Group Co-chair, Grant Reubenicht, said reconciliation was everyone’s business and an ongoing commitment, requiring each of us to recognise the truth of the past, to practise continued reflection, and listen alongside First Nations people.
“Since 2021, AnglicareSA has taken an in-depth look at our reconciliation journey and how we, as an organisation, could move towards real change with lasting purpose,” Grant said.
“With support from Reconciliation SA, we have undertaken a significant engagement process to ensure our RAP includes meaningful actions that promote inclusivity and enhance cultural competency within AnglicareSA and the broader community.
“We involved AnglicareSA employees, First Nations community leaders, and customers to inform AnglicareSA’s RAP Working Group and ensure ownership and participation in the creation of the approach and commitment to reconciliation.
“I thank our RAP Working Group, RAP Ambassadors, and everyone within AnglicareSA as well as external stakeholders who have played a part in the development and delivery of this significant document.”
Senior Strategic Cultural Advisor and RAP Working Group Co-chair, Clyde Rigney, said the celebration represented AnglicareSA’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation.
“Reconciliation, voice, truth-telling, and treaty are critical for the healing that needs to continue across Australia and our commitment shows that we are an organisation that acknowledges that we have an important role in this,” Clyde said.
RAP Coordinator, Georgina Koen, said being part of the development team for the 2025-2027 Innovate RAP had been an incredible learning experience.
She said it had deepened her appreciation for the commitment and effort across AnglicareSA to build genuine partnerships, foster a respectful workplace, and create a more inclusive future.
“This journey has reinforced the importance of respectful listening and truth-telling, and the need to work in genuine partnership with First Nations peoples,” she said.
“Every day, I am supported to be the change, to lead through action, and continue deepening my commitment to reconciliation.
“I am truly grateful to work for an organisation that has provided me with these opportunities.”
