What the service offers
Aerosol Angels engages with young people who have an interest in producing large aerosol artworks, with the aim of discouraging illegal graffiti and encouraging young people to maintain their schooling or re-engage with education.
Through involvement with the group, young people can be introduced to relevant careers and business opportunities. They work with and meet professional artists and art professionals, including sign writing, industrial spray painting and custom paint work. Aerosol Angels gives participants the chance to develop a professional portfolio, resume, obtain an Australian Business Number (ABN) and to gain work experience.
Aerosol Angels also encourages community engagement through murals, demonstrations and art exhibitions. Young people are empowered to take on peer-leadership roles within their community and while visiting other communities.
Young people also receive support with case management around issues including juvenile justice, family conflict and personal support.
