Anglicare SA

Job readiness & support for Aboriginal Students & Graduates (Power Generation)

What the service offers

AnglicareSA has partnered with the Port Adelaide Football Club to deliver an outcome-focused employment and training support program called Power Generation for Aboriginal students and graduates of the Aboriginal Power Cup (APC).

Power Generation assists APC graduates and students (from years 10, 11 and 12) with job readiness and provides ongoing support. The APC is a joint football and academic initiative which sees Aboriginal students achieve a range of educational outcomes, including progressing successfully through their SACE.

AnglicareSA’s wrap-around services support the APC students/graduates to keep progressing with their study/employment by assisting with non-work related challenges such as their home situation, obtaining a driver’s license and financial counselling.

Positive partnership

AnglicareSA is proud to be a Port Adelaide Football Club Tier 1 Charity Partner. This partnership is reflective of the close work we’ve been undertaking with the club over the past years through the successful Power Generation Program.

As a Tier 1 Charity Partner, AnglicareSA has the opportunity to fundraise and raise awareness during Port Power home games.

During the AnglicareSA charity matches at Adelaide Oval, an information marquee is set up to provide footy fans with information about the vast range of services provided by AnglicareSA to more than 58,000 South Australians per year. It also provides fans with an opportunity to make donations to AnglicareSA.
